The world faces a series of challenges that will need to be met with the full force of society in order to ensure a sustainable environment for future generations. To address these concerns, the United Nations in 2015 established the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) to achieve by 2030. This interactive session will introduce the goals and provide examples of how the private sector is uniquely positioned to help achieve the SDGs. The session also look specifically at the role of accountants and finance professionals and how they contribute to institutional adoption and implementation of environment, social, and governance factors and Sustainable Development Goals. Attendees will leave the session with a broad understanding of the SDGs and the important role they play in their organization regarding adoption and implementation.
