IMA Leadership Academy Workshop "Emotional Intelligence" (1.5 NASBA CPE)

We are excited to offer this IMA Leadership Academy workshop to you to earn up to 1.5 NASBA CPE.

Emotional Intelligence is often discussed but do you really know what it is about? This course looks at a definition of emotional intelligence, the 4 domains and 12 competencies of emotional intelligence with specifics on how to strengthen each area, and how emotional intelligence impacts leadership capabilities. Participants will assess their own abilities and come away with specific actions they can take to strengthen their emotional intelligence in the workplace and in other parts of life.




Learning Objectives:
After this session, attendees will be able to: 
  • Define emotional intelligence. 
  • List and describe the four domains of emotional intelligence. 
  • Develop strategies for strengthening emotional intelligence. 
  • Explain how emotional intelligence impacts leadership aptitude.

David Barnett, CMA, CPA, is an accountant, speaker, author, and consultant, and has worked for companies such as Johnson & Johnson, NetAlly, and Fiskars.  He joined the faculty of the IMA Leadership Academy in 2017.  He has spoken around the country, including at several IMA Annual Conferences, on topics including Excel, Outlook, Goal Setting, Time-Management, Employee Engagement, Leadership, Networking, and more.  He is currently the Corporate Controller and HR Manager for NetAlly in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Amy Renner is a Community Relations Manager at IMA Global supporting chapters and councils in the Central US Region. This includes the IMA Akron chapter and IMA Ohio Regional Council.
